Hi everyone, As you know, I was approved after one appeal. Last week, I got two letters from Anthem saying that the surgery was approved. Today, I received a letter approving a one-day hospital stay...more if medically necesary. I feel confident that all will be fine. Then again, I am having trust issues with insurance. LOL Anyone else get approved for a one-day stay for open surgery? Kent

Hey Kent: Welcome to the "you got to be kidding insurance letter". I was granted one day also. I went in Dec. 4 and was out Dec. 6 at 12:30 p.m. Could have had more time if needed. It would be interesting to see how anyone would push a person out if they were really ill and two days granted from the insurance. Imagine what a great story it would be in the BDN. "Person removed forceabily by wheel barrow because insurance said so" More at 11:00!!!!!!() HAHAHA BTW I had Dr. Toder and the lapocropic(gastric bypass). Jane

Not to worry, Kent......my insurance company said the same thing! I was approved for one night's stay! I stayed there for 3 nights/4days and my insurance covered it all.
