Terrible Appetite!

Wow: I've been away from posting for so long---so sorry that I've not been more supportive with folks going through surgery recently. I am hungry a lot at night. I just can't believe it. So depressing! My surgery was Dec. 4 and I am down 42 pounds--Dayna projected for my weight that I would be down 50 pounds by three months, so in that regard I am on target. I thought I would not be hungry for a long time--but the ole monster has returned. So far, no harm done. Not tried sugar or caffeine--but both are on my mind. I do have a sugar free popsicle or soy chips to fill that "need". And, I am starting the exercise program at EMMC Rehab on Union Street tomorrow tomorrow(first visit they show you how to use the equipment). Hey we can use it for three months for free. Anyway, that may increase my hunger but at least I'll be able to find another way to keep the weight at bay. Wondered if other folks felt this way, this soon. Of course, it takes very little to fill me up, which is good! Hope to see y'all on Friday! Jane

Are you getting in enough solid protein? There was an article in the newest issue of ObesityHelp magazine that talks about what type of protein keeps your fuller longer. Was really pretty interesting. I am sorry you are having the hunger issues, other then that you sound great. Have fun working out, I really need to get back to it myself. Don't be such a stranger! Hugsssss Theresa

Jane, Is this the same Jane I sat next to at the meeting last night? I noticed your profile says VGB that is why I asked if you had the band. Sometimes not getting enough fluids and actually being thirsty could be confused with hunger feelings so up the ante on the drinks. Although I get hungry often too...it's only natural. Oh well. Casey

Yes, I'm the one with the big mouth. Need to learn to be a bit more laid back at these things. I think I made a mistake when defining what kind of surgery I had---I was mixed up at the time I guess. I had a regular old fashioned gastric bypass but done by Dr. Toder and done laporasoicly(sp?). In other words, stomach stapling. You teach me a lot every time I attend a session--thanks so much. Jane
