Stricture 20 days out

Hi- I just got back from the day surgery unit and had to have a quick simple procedure to take care of a stricture between my stomach and my intestine. The pocess was easy and quick but the IV wasn't I'm hoping I don't need an IV again until I loose more weight. If you start vomiting and having pain in your chest over one small bite of food go get it checked out. The five hours of vomiting over one bite is much more painful then the process to get it fixed. STILL no regrets. Blended foods haven't been that bad. I found out today that the EDY's no sugar added popsicles are great and so is diet cranberry/rasberry Snapple. I haven't felt like anything other than liquid today. I felt I was calling wolf and maybe there wasn't anything really wrong and felt bad calling the Dr in the night over the weekend. I almost felt relieved that he did find something wrong. I learned to ALWAYS CALL YOUR SURGEON and let them decide.

Hi Teresa! I know how you feel, "It must be me... there is probably nothing wrong..." So GOOD FOR YOU for listening to your body and calling Dr. Cobean! I am so glad to hear that you are doing better and that the procedure for the stricture wasn't terribly bad, sorry about the IV though . Each day will be better, and I think it's terrific that you are feeling no regrets and remaining positive - that sort of attitude will take you far! Keep up the great work! Love, Jo

Hi Teresa, Sorry you had to go through such a terrible ordeal, but at least it is behind you now. I have heard people say that once you have stricture you are more likely to get a second one. I hope this isnt the case with you, but at least you would know what it was this time. Hang in there and please keep us posted! Theresa

Hey Teresa! I just wanted to say I had a stricture at 1 month post op and was surprised how easy the procedure went as well. I am now 17 months and have not had another. Just luck I guess! Good luck to you on your journey! Denise
