Healthy food

I know I've seen other people put links to recipe sites but what I want is some advice for myself, not so much recipes. My down fall is chips !! (Terri, you can relate) What would be some healthy snack foods to keep at work to munch on? I find myself still wanting to eat chips and junk food and I know I'm not suppose to. Some habits are hard to kill. Looking forward to everyone's suggestions. Cindy

Wow, I do not know what I would do if I worked outside of the home. Right now I will munch grapes, watermelon and strawberries. Oh and of course cheese. I bet some of the others here will give you some great ideas. Good luck! Theresa

You can try soy crisps.. they're pretty good, and they're packed with Protein and low carbs. They're about $1.20 a bag.

Thanks for the suggestion of soycrisps. Ive never seen them. Where would I find them in the grocery store?

Usually the soy crisps are in either the health food section or the diet food section. I occasionally see them with the chips and stuff, but not often.

Peanuts aren't that bad as long as you do not eat that many. Carrots, celery? Put peanut butter on those and I can not imagine them being bad for you.

Hi Cindy, I hear ya on the snacky foods...pretzel sticks are a nice snack if you want crunchy/salty. They are of course low in fat etc. Just stick to the carb reccomendations of your nutritionist. There are always wheat thins, triscuts, and the like. There are so many snack type foods out there that aren't chips you shouldn't have a problem finding something you like. As far as chocolate or ice cream I get the Russell Stover sugar free peanut butter mini cups which are good and ice cream we always have gotten low fat no sugar Hood neopolitan. I like the vanilla right now the best but am thinking I want to go on a strawberry kick. Not to lecture but it's those sneaky habits that can get us down the wrong path. When you say munching do you mean grazing throughout the day or just as a breaktime snack? I unfortunately find myself grazing for at least 2-3 days of the month during PMS. Which is so annoying. But I think it'll be ok as an overall thing. I do pretty good the rest of the time. I'm wicked into the pretzel sticks right now and have been into pickles too (zesty, dill, sweet you name it I want it, lol). But my tastes change all the time... Hope you find something you are satisfied by. Casey
