Researching Lap Band

Hi all, I am new to this site. I am at my wits end with my weight, I have tried everything from low fat to slim fast to you name it and nothing works for me, I always end up gaining all the weight that I have lost and then some! I am looking into LAP BAND and wanted to know if any of you have had it done and could help me out? Thanks, Michelle

Hi Michelle, I have not had the LapBand, I went with the RNY, but there is a fellow Mainer here by the name of Cindy that had the LapBand in November. Hopefully she will see your post and respond. Did you know ObesityHelp has a LapBand forum? To get to it click on Gallery at the top of this message board. On the left hand side down just a bit is a drop down box, I believe the title is "Members Forums". Click on LapBand and you will be there. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you. I am the Cindy that Theresa mentioned in her reply. Yes, I did have lap-band in Nov 2003. I have lost 20 lbs so far and feel great. I feel its alot less restrictive than the gastric bypass, but thats only my opinion. I attend a weekly support group and I see lots of GREAT success. Here is the website from the surgeon's office.
