Hi gang! I've been reading the message boards for a few weeks now and have finally decided to join in. My name is Aggie and I live in Auburn. After being on the waiting list @ The MMC Bariatric Center for a year, I had my first appt for evaluation on December 29. Now I have met Dr. Wolff twice now and have signed my consent. Now I wait for the scheduler to call me with a date. Dr. Wolff said the surgery could be as soon as two weeks or as long as four...Eek! Things are moving fast. I have had diabetes and hypertension for three years now. Since I am a nurse I see the ravages of diabetes everyday and I don't want that future. Can't wait to hear from you all. Got to go (G2G). Hey Aggie. Welcome! My inbox is always open for questions or just blabbing...I tenf to ramble so my apologies in advance. Congrats on being in a program. It certainly is a great feeling to have things moving along. It's great when it's all over, lol. In case you have the time my profile has some insight on my experience with weight loss. But again the rambling can be a deterrnet, lol. Goodluck and hope to yak with ya in the future. ;) Casey

Welcome Aggie! I am also in the appeal process and feeling very upbeat about it (now). The whole process has been like a gallop! The best information during my decision making process has come from the people who attend support groups and participate on this site. It is a very special group of people. I hope that I can be as helpful as the others as we make our individual journeys together. Kent

I swear you do not give yourself enough credit Casey. I LOVE your posts, you are very informed and always willing to help. Case in point, Marsha from Decembers support group meeting. You are truly an inspiration. Theresa

Hi Theresa, Thank you so much. I guess I have always been selfdepreciating so why stop now? lol It may be time for me to lighten up on it but then I feel like I would be a gloater or something. lol Casey

Thanks gang! How wonderful to have a group of people to bounce things off of! Worked a 12 hr shift today and found out on my way home that I am scheduled for February 9! Not sure if the insurance company has approved me yet but I have heard from PreAdmission Testing and the Admitting dept at MMC. I'll have to check with Casco Bay Surgery tomorrow. Eek!!! That would be almost 10 days away! Got to order more Real Meals soon. Support group is February 4 and I will definitely be there! Well, G2G, I'm tired! Aggie
