A word about protein and other stuff...
I keep forgetting to update my profile...someone spank me please.
But I did go see Dayna and Clough for my follow up appointments last week. Dayna says I'm right on track. My BMI is in the "normal" range. For someone my height (5'2") I could weigh between 110 and 135 and be ok, I now weigh 130. She said I have lost a bit of muscle and I know why, I haven't been working out since we moved to our new apartment and Dusty started classes...I need to get back on track with that of course. At this point post op she reccomends not having protein shakes etc...too much protein means excess calories. So the plan is 2oz of meat and 15-20grams of carbs at each meal. A snack between meals is ok as well...like 1/4 mixed nuts or a small fruit etc. Makes sense. I think I'm about at the end of the road and it's time to slow things down. This must be what she tells all the 6 month or so people so here's some insight to your future appointment ladies and gents. I talked to her about my throwing up fiasco...she said some people are affected that way so not to worry. And about how I have been feeling somewhat depressed or whatever. The counselor from her office is suppose to be going to the coming Fri and Wed meeting to speak so I will make sure to go to those and see if I would like to see her privately. I know what the things are that are bugging me I might just need some help working through it before it becomes more annoying.
Dr Clough said he was quite impressed with my success and is very happy he did my surgery. His scales are always 4lbs less that Dayna's so I go with his. Hers actually said 134...his 130, lol. So when I go to see him for my one year I'll bring before and after pictures for my file. Also he checked out my belly and said there won't be any need for reconstructive surgery. Which was good to hear.
Not too much going on with us otherwise. Just trying to stay warm...which is a struggle. We actually rented some movies the other day...saw Seabiscut (good), Chicken Run with our son (good), and Pirates of the caribbean (really good). I need to get some new clothes I just cleaned out all the 9/10's I'm getting into 7/8's now. Which is neat. I wonder what size I will end up in. Dusty is so busy with school...guess that's what happens when you take 6 english classes in one semester, lol.
Well I suppose I should run, Dusty has school stuff to do online this morning and I think my grandparents might be visiting so I shold go call them.
Hope all is well with all of you!

Lauren- not sure if you saw my other post but thanks again for the Unjury Powder. I put some choc in banana cream pudding. It was ok. I tried the vanilla in milk and it was blechy. So I may just put it in puddings when I happen to make them. I really appreciate it! I think I'd still like to try the "UU" although I guess I'll have to save my pennies since they don't have free samples...sucks being poor...oh well someday we won't be.
Also I recieved the Whey Protein lemonade and fruit punch powders...haven't tried em yet but I might use them someday, lol.
If you remind me I can bring you a couple scoops of the UU at the next Friday meeting. Can you tell me when the next one is? I am pretty sure Mum will come out and watch the kids so Nick and I can come on up. I love the Friday meetings.
I see Dayna on the 9th. At least I am pretty sure it is teh 9th. Gotta double check that one.
You are doing wonderful, wish I was as dedicated as you. I am not BAD, but sure not as great as you. As of today I am at 162 and am NOT complaining. I am quite pleased with it in fact. I NEED to get back to Curves. Things have happened at work and I have been covering for someone while they are out. She should be back sometime this week and I WILL start back. I know Dayna is going to scold me for muscle loss but I can get it back, I am not really worried about that at all.
Congratulations on a wonderful job!!!
Theresa
Theresa,
I think the meeting would be the first Friday of the month as usual. Looks like the 6th. Jope so cause that's when I'll be there, lol. You don't have to bring the UU I'll just order some on the site. Thank you so much for the offer though that is sweet.
Too bad she couldn't get you in on the 6th before the meeting. One trip would be really nice.
That's what is weird Theresa, I don't feel like I'm all that dedicated. I guess maybe I am as far as eating stuff that is somewhat healthy and drinking enough. But man am I bad about going to the gym. And it's not that I don't want to. I do want to. I love going. It's been more of a not enough time thing with having a 2 yr old not in daycare, no baby sitter, and Dusty in school full time. Plus is so damn cold I just want to put jammies on and cuddle on the couch reading Dr Seuss with Bradley, lol.
I think you are doing fantasti****rtainly do not think you are slacking at all. I am the bad one. I eat all kinds of carbs, all kinds of food for that matter. It seems like I'm eating all the time. Maybe it's just in my head, lol.
No, congrats to you!!
