when will I wake up?
I have friends that need to know how long I will be out, or when I will wake up. My operation starts at 7:30 am. When should I wake up? How long before I get a room? When did they have you up and walking?
Thanks for your help. I'm not scared, just need to know. You girls are the best! Thanks for all your support and putting up with my "Humor".
Love you, see you on the other side.
Hey Ron,
My surgery was at 7:30 also. They had me arrive at 5:30...do some prep stuff then surgery at 7:30. It took less than one hour. Dr Clough called my husband at 8:20. I could have been taken in a little early I was asleep so I'm not sure. Anyhoo as long as all goes well it should be 1-2 hours after your time when it is done. You might want to ask him for an estimate when you see him for your pre-op appt. My husband and son came to see me in the room about noon so I think I was probably in there around 11ish. I don't think I was walking till afternoon. It's not exactly a jump up and run type of day, lol. Just do what you can when you can and don't worry. Make sure to use your incentive spirometer and keep your sequencials(sp?) on your legs as long as you aren't walking.
You'll do great! See you soon.

I know I woke up in recovery but I do not remember waking up. Weird feeling knowing yet not really remembering. I remember when they were getting me ready for surgery they put something in the IV and said it might make me a bit drowsy. The next thing I can say I REALLY remember is being wheeled into my room and saying"WOW, what a nice room." Guess I am polite even when I am drugged up. Hub was there and I looked at the clock, it was 10 till the hour. Hub just told me I got up there at 9:50am, surgery was at 7:30am.
I walked sometime around 2pm for the first time, I wanted to walk earlier but they said not yet. I am sure glad hub remembers details better then I can.
They are great on the 3rd floor, you will have fantastic care.
Huggsss
