Mainecare pay for skin removal?

Hi all...did anyone find out if Mainecare ok'd excess skin removal surgery yet? Sally

No they have not and right now it is not looking to good. I believe that if given a choice they will go with covering the gastric bypass and not the excess skin removal but you never know.

Any news on this?

I received this email from Sen. Rotundo: You should be all set. Nothing is cast in stone yet, but for the time being these proposed cuts have been eliminated! Glad I can send you good news! Peggy Rotundo Because she said "these proposed cuts" I am taking that to mean all surgeries/procedures listed under the "elective surgery" catagory. Now I could be reading into it more then what it means but if I hear more I will post here. Vikki

Hi Sally, I just wanted to let you know I received an email today from the acting director of the Bureau of Medical Services & it said that Mainecare is not making any of the proposed cuts!! so skin removal is still covered Yeah!!!! Vikki
