Thsi is a question from my sister in law actually...She had gastric bypass surgery in 1988. She didn't go through all the stuff we are going through to get surgery. It wasn't required. She has been having problems with it and would like a revision. Does anyone know anything about the reviosn..what they do etc? Is it the same steps as we are going through to get surgery? Any information would be appreciated...Thank You!! Erika

From what I understand she will have to go through everything we have gone through. The surgeon might say no depending on the reason she has gained it back. But I think almost any surgery that was not done within the last 5 years or so(since it has been improved so much) has a VERY good chance of being approved by a surgeon. Tell her to become a member so we can get to know her!! Have a great and hopefully warmer weekend! Theresa

Hi Theresa, I thought that is probably the way it goes...Having to go through all the stuff we have to. She hasnt gained her weight back but, she is constantly vommitting..mothign stays down and she feels self conscious about not being able to eat in public..without barfing She has been todl that she should have a revision..and her PCP is all for it. But, they wanted her orginal Dr. to do it...apparently he doesn't want to. I told her that Dr. Clough was the only one in Maine that does revisons. She has had her esophagus stretched more times then you can imagine and she has had bleeding etc. over the past few years. She said she wishes they had the support groups and requirements they have now. I'm sure she woudl liek to share her story HERSELF. I will tell her to become a member..I have told her about everyone here... GoodNight Everyone, Erika
