MaineCare Update.....

Hi Everyone....I recieved a response to a letter I wrote the Governor about the surgery. It said if anyone who is on MaineCare was approved at this point for the surgery for a future date will be covered even after the decision is made about the surgeries no matter what. Helen, Hello. As reassuring as that is to some people, some of us were one appointment away from sending in to the insurance for approval. And anyone needing excess skin removed after surgery is going to be denied because of this new plan. So we still need to fight this very hard. We need to make sure that the governor knows that these are NOT elective surgeries they are necessary. We should know more about it on Jan. 20th. I went to the support meeting tonight and Lynn Bolduc seemed reassured. If we ALL keep working at it we should be able to get this covered and thereby help untold numbers of people. Let's just keep up the work. Michelle
