1st fill
I finally have my 1st fill tomorrow. I am so excited. Cant believe I'm saying that. Its been rescheduled a few times, so I am anxious. My weight loss has plateaued at this point and I feel that having a fill will get things moving again. Does that make sense to anyone?
Alot of people say I will start seeing weight loss again after the fill. Its scheduled for 7:30 am. Wish me luck
Theresa, thanks so much for the explanation of 'a fill'. The link you posted is great, very helpful! I didn't realize that there are that many different procedures out there. I knew of 3 different kinds, but there seems to be a couple of variations on some. Anyway..... thanks again, you were very informative. Glad to be here!! Have a great day!
Hi, This is my 1st time on the message board. I am currently on the waiting list for WLS and can't wait! I've been doing a lot of web-surfing to find out as much as I can about Bariatric surgery. I've been sorta lurking about on this message board for a few weeks and it sounds/feels like a lot of caring supportive people here. This particular message kind of stumped me however..... Could someone please explain what 'having a fill' means? Please excuse my ignorance!! BTW.... Good Luck!
Cindy had LapBand. LapBand is restrictive, not a bypass. The surgeon put a band around her tummy to make it very small. After a month or so, not sure how long, they go in and put stuff in the band to make it smaller so there is more restriction. At least this is the way I understand it. A person that gets LapBand can have fills as often as they need, but I believe there are usually 4 to 6 fills.
The link below shows and talks about the lapband if you want to check it out.

BTW, thanks for the great things you said about your little home here on ObesityHelp. I think we are a great bunch of people. Glad you could join us!

OK, I have had my 1st fill. IT wasnt bad at all, although I was wicked nervous about the procedure. Dr Morand was so kind and explained everything he did. He started by numbing my belly around the port, then the long needle went into my port and he put 1 1/2 CC saline in. He started with 2 CC and it was too restrictive, couldnt swallow. He removed 1/2 CC and it feels good. I'll admit I'm afraid to eat right now. I am drinking coffee at this moment.
I feel great !!!
