I need answers?????
I really need honesty from all of you....If anyone has had Dr Aslam as their surgeon and and has had a bad experience please tell me.....I've been speaking to someone who has had him but it's only one person that I have speoken to who had Dr Aslam as their surgeon.....Also has anyone had to sign a paper with their surgeon that has said it wasn't the responsibility of the surgeon if something went wrong on the operating table??? Is this normal or even legal for them to ask us to sign something like this???? Please let me know......Sincerely Helen
Hi Helen...really can't answer your question due to a slander suit if anything negative is said. Sorry but thats the problem with an open message board.
I didn't have Dr Aslam but i believe they do have you sign a release form.
Best of luck to ya girl

PS ...If you have questions about a doctor i would do alot of research maybe the state medical board could help im not sure.
I would not worry if it is coming from just one person as long as you have done your research. In research I mean contacting others that have had him and asking them for their opinions. Email them personally and ask if they have anything negative to say. Go to his support groups and listen to people, talk with them before or after the meeting, find out all you can.
I could have had Dr Aslam, he is much closer then Dr Clough my surgeon from Bangor, but I had such a strong recommendation from a friend about Dr Clough then my research really made me know he is the surgeon I wanted. Also the time line was much shorter.
In the end you have to decide how you feel about him. Your impression is what matters the most, YOU have to feel comfortable with him. As far as the hospital, I had all my children there and never had a problem.
Feel free to email me if you want.

My sister has gastric bypass in 1999 with Dr Aslam and she has always been happy with him and his staff. My niece had lapband with Aslam in 2003 and again was happy with him and his staff. My niece wanted me to have my lapband with him, but I chose Dr Morand instead. My PCP had recommened Dr Morand and his group and once I met the dr was very much at ease.
Helen, I had my surgery done by Dr. Aslam. I absolutely trusted my life in his hands. I had done so much research prior to my surgery and he is 1 1/2 hours away from me. I could have chosen a Dr 5 mins away but he had only done 10 or less surgeries.
I think alot of people take Dr A wrong, as he is a man of few words. He is extremely professional and knows that he's doing.
Have you been to Dr A's site? Go there and ask anyone who has had him as their surgeon.
Yes, some people have had conplications, and that it what we are all warned about. That is where you researching this surgery, and knowing exactly what to expects comes in.
I have so much faith in Dr. A that I have highly recommeded him to many people.
If you have any other questions, or would like to asks things directly, please do not hesitate to email me.
I hope your Journey goes very well.
Hugz,
