Waiting for my 1st fill

I had lapband surgery on Nov 11. I was scheduled for my first fill on Dec 19. The dr couldnt do the fill because my port is to deep, so he needs to send me to xray at the hospital to have it done. I am patiently waiting to hear from the office when I can go have the fill. Matter of fact, I'm getting very impatient. My stomach isnt swollen any longer from the surgery, and I have no restriction as far as eating. I have originally lost 16lbs, as of yesterday I have gained 1 back. Any advice for me while I await my fill?? My concern is my old eating habits are rearing up again and that scares me.

When you have lapband surgery, you have a band around your stomach with a cathater tube and a port at the end of the tube. The port is under your skin, but you can feel it if you push hard enough. 6 weeks after your surgery, you have a fill. This is when they inject a needle into your port, through your belly and add saline solution into the band. This will tighten your stomach and you will feel full longer and it will last longer. I am over due for my fill.

There you are!! I sent you an email a couple weeks ago at your aol address. Wow, time has flown! 16 lbs is great, but if you have gained 1 back I would say you are in need of the fill. Have you brought this gain up at a support group? I bet others have gone through this also. Glad to see you posting! Theresa (aka Teri)

Hi Teri, my long lost friend~ We havent had a support group for 2 weeks due to the holidays falling on Weds. Thats why Ive decided to post asking for some advice. I am going to call Dr Morands office right now and ask them to make the appt NOW for me. What is your total weight loss? You must feel so good. I am so proud of us. I didnt get an email from you on AOL, or not one I recognized I guess. Hope you are doing well. Say hi to your family for me. Cindy

Are you eating alot. Now I was told that you would be eating two bites and that is it. Now for me that is hard because eating is what got us here in the first place. But the women that runs Augusta Surgical Support Group told us that it would take a year before we would be able to do that. Now I eat more sometimes and yup guess what happens I am in the bathroom loosing it. Because the more I try to keep it down the more the saliva builds up and all it takes is for me to bend over and it comes out. Keep you head up. 16lbs is something to be proud of. Don't give up. Besides going to the hospital is all good. I have had all of mine done there and you can watch what goes through and then make the decision on what feels right at that time and they can see how long it takes to go through. It is all good. Just eat healthy and think about the good things. Salads and if you can get anything that will stay with you do that. You can do it. Make this work don't fall into the old habits.

Hi Heidi, I have met you before at the support group at Augusta Surgical. I work at BMV in Augusta. Yes, I am tending to overeat. I am finding that I can eat just about anything, no restrictions. I got my date for my 1st fill. Jan 9. Thats only 1 week away, so I will be ok. 16lbs is a good start, but I'm impatient and looking for more results. Thanks for the advice. I'm having a yummy salad for lunch.
