Hi Everyone, Been a while since I've posted. I'm 10 weeks out (-64)...open rny and have a tremendous pulling pain where the stomach and pouch were separated? Is this normal? I figure where I"ve been vomiting, etc. a lot lately (getting used to new foods) I probably pulled something? Anyone experienced this kind of pain? Had my first "dumping" sydrome tonight (ate something with too much fat content) and I'll tell you, I was ready to have God take me if he thought it was my time. Not eager to go through that anytime again soon. Take care - talk with you all soon. Sue

Hang in there. What you described is everything I went through. I am a little further along in the process from you - about 17 weeks post op. I have lost 90 pounds and the pain is gone. right around week 10 is when I had some of the worst pain and I was told it was from nerve tissue regenerating. You could also have yourself the beginning of a hernia. I have not dumped. I have, however, eaten 1 bite too much and suffered for hours. I cannot vomit. I certainly know exactly how many bites I can have now, and I can feel how full I am while eating now. That took a while to develop but you will get the hang of it. Slow down on the new foods if you're sick a lot. It will help. Chew very very very well and that might help as well. I only in the last 2-3 weeks have found that I can eat a little more and I don't have to puree it in my mouth any more - though I certainly still have to chew very well, it's not like it was at first. It used to be that if I swallowed my first bite wrong I was done my meal and couldn't eat any more. This all gets better as time goes on, and if it doesn't, then you are potentially dealing with strictures, hernias, dumping/food sensitivities, etc. I am practically a textbook case and have not had complications, and I still went through some of what you are going through. From my conversations with my local support group, sounds if it's a normal part of the healing process. It gets better...
