Support Group

In addition to the regular three support groups at EMMC, has anyone ever suggested to have one closed meeting (post-op only) meeting a month? Now, that I am on the other side, I can see the value of just discussion for those of us who are newbies to the new life. I felt a little frustrated at the last support group and just wondered if this is a possibility for at least once a month? I will also pose this question to Lynn. Any feedback?----Jane

I see the value in a meeting as you describe. Good idea if it not too much for the staffing. Kent

I also think this is a good idea. I know that my surgeon in FL offered one just for postops who were -100 pounds. He felt that recent postops can benefit from the regular support groups but that people down 100 pounds have different issues nutritionally as well as practically. If one were to be established it might be good to limit it to those a few months out or a certain number of pounds down. Just a thought. There are things I don't remember or don't care about from being a recent post op but lots of issues I would be interested in discussing now that I'm almost 100 pounds lighter, such as saggy skin, nutrition, hair loss, etc. Just my 2 cents worth.
