Well here I am again, alive and well(not sure?) Recovered through those few awful days. Now, I am still on liquids until Friday when I meet with Dr. Toder. Hoping things are ok to go on more protein and chewable food. I have been very hungry the last two days and thinking of Mexican food. I did not think I would be hungry so I am a bit discouraged with this. I think I might also be blocked or need to take a laxative--but will wait until Monday to talk to someone. Feedback from other post-op would be helfpul right now. I was not able to attend the support group last week but will try for the 20th. I am still weak and amm going to try and walk outside today. I did manage to get out Thursday to fill my car and drop in at Brooks. All I did there was shop a little and sweat---it was awful. I don't have the energy to write about my experience in the hospital--not as wonderful as I had hoped--very croweded, very noisy(and right in front of the nurses station). My BP was 203/99 so not a great time and they were so busy that I never got out of bed until Friday night(at my insistance and never saw any water, jello. Did get a popsicle Saturday morning and then left. Things don't always go as well as one hopes. Not sure about weight loss--maybe some because my scale has been broken for awhile--think I will get one next week. Trying to be positive and not so hungry. Jane

Hi Jane...I had my VBG on Sept 16th and as of today im down 74lbs. My problems with hungry after i got home was cured by drinking protein shakes and water. I know you have heard that more then once lol. It does get better with time tho. Just do what the doc tells you and everything will be fine. But please do keep an eye out for any acid reflux that happened to me...i was so sick vomiting everything i tried to eat. Wouldn't wish that on anyone. Doc gave me some tiny pills and cleared it right up. Im still learning how to eat slow...its not my nature, ive always been a chow hound infront of the tv or computer. Just remember you have had Major surgery and its going to take awhile to get back to yourself. Don't push yourself but try to do alittle more everyday. If you need a laxitive My surgeon told me to use Milk of Magnisha...and just remember that your not eating much so everything is off right now and it might take awhile for it to work.Good luck to you Jane and if i can help or just want someone to gab to let me know. hugssssssss Sally
