Your Favorite Things
I am looking for some new ideas on meals and was wondering if you would all share
1) Your Favorite Breakfast
2) Your Favorite Lunch
3) Your Favorite Dinner
It seems like I have found things that I really like and that taste decent to me, so I tend to eat them repetitively. But, I am getting bored and don't even really care if I eat most days--so thought some of you might have some ideas that might inspire me.
Thanks for your help.
Jill
I am going through the exact same thing as you. I brought it up at the support meeting on Friday. I do not care if I eat, even when my pet pouch is telling me I am hungry. It is a very odd feeling not to care. I wish I could give you ideas but since I really do not eat much or the way we should eat I would not be the best person to advise you. Well other then this one thing I love.
I dice up chicken, make it as if I was putting it in chicken fajitas(sp) , make some brown rice and put it over that. I have just a couple tbls of the rice but eat lots of the chicken. My family LOVES this so it is a nice meal to make. I have done it with very lean hamburger also, but the family enjoys the chicken better and I find it easier to make.
Good luck!!

Hi Jill....Not so sure i can help here either lol. But here i go anyway. What i have been doing is getting some Lean Cusine meals one of these will last me lunch and dinner usually. Been getting alot of the chicken dinners (protein yanno). Also been eating alot of soup. I know im not getting 800 calories a day in my like the doctor would like but i just don't feel like eating either. The water is filling me up mostly. The dinners are hit and miss with me some i can tolerate some i can't...the cat is really putting on pounds LOL but loves when i can't finish. Good luck with your new life!

Well lately I have been kind of a bonehead and have just been eating some steak or egg and fruit at breakfast. Mozzarella cheese sticks and crackers or fruit at lunch. Then some beef stew or chili or whatever I make for the hub at dinner.
I did the same thing with food (eating the same thing till I got sick of it). Check out some online recipe places like BHG.com or whatever. You can get a few ideas and then create your own recipes. A little time consuming but hey what the hell right?
Another thing that can help is going to the grocery store and really just spending time looking at everything. Seafood, the deli, the area where they have the dry packets of gravy has the bag/seasoning thinys- those have alot of variety.
Goodluck!

One of the things that I make often is a meatless chili. It makes 8 cups but can be frozen. I eat 1/3 -1/2 cup as chili and others in my household love it over spaghetti. It is very simple and cheap (less than $3.00 if you go to Walmart and by Walmart brands). It consists of the following:
1 29 ounce can of tomato puree
1 10 ounce can of Diced tomato with green chiles
1 15.25 ounce can of black beans
1 10.5 ounce can of chili beans in spicy sauce
1 15.5 ounce can of pinto beans
1 can of great northern beans
1 onion chopped
Just put everthing together in a pot and heat.
