I'm new
Hi all. I've been lurking around this site for quite a while, finally decided to post. I have my dietician appt. next week, my physical appt. dec 1 with my pcp, am waiting for my appt. for psych. eval. (had to send in paperwork), have been to one informational meeting so far. I am hoping to start going once a week if possible. Hopefully by my Dec 1 appt with my pcp everything else will be done, so we can send it all to my surgeon. Luckily my pcp is all for my having surgery. Now if only the insurance company will see it the same way. I have recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and polycystic ovarian syndrome. I am now taking 5 meds a day.
I'm a 35 year old wife and mom. I have a 6 year old daughter, and 2 sons 13, and 14. Definately need to get healthy!!!! All these health problems all of a sudden have really thrown me for a loop. It was in my pursuit of surgery that all of this was discovered. My pcp seems to think it might up my chances of approval by my insurance company. I sure hope so.
I've noticed that this site is full of very helpful, caring people. I'm hoping to be added to the list. My husband is supportive, but really has no idea what it is like to be obese. He's never had to worry about his weight a day in his life.Lucky him!!!
Well I just wanted to introduce myself, as you'll probably see me posting questions on here all the time. Thanks for listening.
Tracy
Welcome Tracy,
Sounds like your well on your way to a surgery date. I have my consult appt. next monday, hard to believe it's so close. Time flies.
Your health problems are the same as mine. And yes, I understand what it feels like to have your health problems "throw you for a loop"! I also have 3 kids. 7y.o, 5y.o boys and a 31\2 y.o girl. I long so much to have more energy and be more active with them. Ditto on the husband thing too.
I look forward to sharing our "journey's". Nice to meet you!
Wow is the weather ugly today......stay warm!

Welcome to AMOS and to the Maine Board. If you have any questions or just need support send me an email. [email protected] I had my surgery in July and so far so good. It is a long journey but VERY worth it. Good luck!!!
