I have my surgery date
WOO HOO! YIPPEEEEEEEE! A surgery date - and it's not too far off : ) I am so excited for you Linda! Wishing you a surgery and recovery as speedy and uneventful as mine. Surgery was the best thing I ever did for myself. I had a lap Roux-en-Y with Dr. Cobean at MMC on July 28th, 2003. I am not quite 5 weeks out, but already I feel better than I have in ten years! My husband and kids are having a hard time keeping up with me - I am biking, swimming, walking - will start at Curves next week and I feel so TERRIFIC! No more diabetes! My blood pressure is normal! I look forward to one day sleeping without my scuba gear (C-Pap!). Life is good, Linda - you will see! Love, Jo PS - I am in Maine, although we do not have the same surgeon, nor live in the same area, I would be happy to call you on the phone to answer any general questions you might have about surgery. My email is [email protected] if you want to email me your phone number. I am so excited for you! : )
Welcome Linda and congratulations! I understand Dr Aslam is very experienced in this surgery. I think he was one of the only ones doing it for a very long time. He does do things a little differently though then some of the others. For instance I think he is the doc who leaves a feeding (G tube) in for a while. There are different post op programs for different docs. I am sorry I can't be your angel as I am heading back down to Florida in less than two weeks!
Good luck and I'll be watching for your updates.
