Anyone who has had experience with Dr. Clough and his team.... When I went to a group nutritian class, Dayna expressed that we should NOW be starting to watch what we eat and taking vitamins. I have started the vitamins, quit soda, quit smoking 17 wks ago, however watching what I eat is almost impossible for some reason. Not sure what else I can handle quitting at this point. I am still relatively new at quitting smoking and of course the eating thing is more of an issue with that... I know some people wont do surgery unless there is a weightloss before surgery. Is this something I should be deeply worried about? I am trying but MAN, what a struggle I am having.. Any suggestions?!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!! Kell

Hi Kelly, Do not worry about having to lose weight. I have never heard of that as a requirement. I gained 4 pounds from the first meeting with Dr Clough to the second. I never really watched what I ate either. I did quit drinking soda though. As for the vitamins and such, it is good to start them before hand, the more you have in you the better. After surgery (3.5 weeks ago) I have not been able to tolerate the vitamins I was taking. They were to sugary. Now I am taking a womans multi vitamin. Good luck, Dr Clough is a wonderful surgeon!

I remember her saying to stay at your present weight or try to loose weight. I do know that when you quit smoking most folks gain weight, so don't be hard on yourself. Quiting smoking is harder than loosing weight and this is what the operation will do for us. ...........Ron
