I finally had my consultation with Dr. Clough. He feels I will do well with surgery and I should loose 200lb. That would put me at a weight of 165, I haven't been 165 since I was in 8th grade. That was almost 20 years ago. My BMI has finally dropped to below 60. We talked for about 25 minutes. He was explaining the surgery to me and after awhile he said you all ready know all of this. I guess he could tell I really have a good idea of what will happen after surgery. I even asked him one question, that really made him stop and think because he had never been asked that question before. I asked him If he had ever had a surgery started that he couldn't complete. I was glade to hear him say no but he did tell me about another doctor had one that couldn't be completed do to the patient having a heart attack when he was being put under. Dr. Clough also thinks my incision should be 5 inches or under. He also doesn't think I will need a tummy tuck after the weight loss. I don't need to stop any of my medications not even my birth control pills. He feels I should be off the Actos before I leave the hospital. Also he feels I should have my tubes tied done after I have lost the weight, and not do it during the WLS. He will be dictating a letter to my insurance company and submitting it for approval. They are now scheduling surgery for July, so I really hope that I can have mine in July, so I won't have to miss so much work. I had 4 pages of questions with me and he answered all of them that I asked. There was a couple of them that I should of asked but forgot. So I will have to ask him when I go back up to see him after I get approval for surgery. I think everything went really well today. If I don't hear about being approver for surgery I will call them in 2 weeks.
