Okay so I know we take in our meals over a thirty minute period and then wait 30 minutes before drinking any water, but do I only sip water for thirty minutes and then stop that too? This is only day 3 for me and I want to do my best to get my water in but stopping every thirty minutes and waiting thirty minutes to resume seems to be making it impossible...am I doing this wrong?

You Kristie!  You can drink water, or other calorie-free drinks, as often, and as much (realistically), as you want, as long as you follow the rules about not drinking for 30 minutes before you eat, while you eat, or 30 minutes after. Other than that, you can drink anytime you like!!!

Be back in a bit...my wife is home now...and it's my b-day, so, you know!!!  Celebrate good times (come on!)  :-)

Okay now that I have confirmation...I realize just how silly that is. I tend to overanalyze things and so I erred on the side of caution and this is what I did all day! LMAO. Oh well sometimes you just get information overload! Its a new day tomorrow!

HI Kristie!

I know what you mean, I do exactly the same thing.  :-)

How you feeling so far?  It took me, oh, gosh, well, you know, I felt pretty good even the two weeks I was home, but, when I went back to work on the third week, even though I didn't have to do any lifting or anything like that, just getting through the days was hard (I went back FT at Week 3).  Boy, mid-afternoon was hard, just to stay awake.  I thought something was kinda wrong, but, I stuck it out, and eventually realized it was just because I was still healing.

I hope you had a good experience in EMMC...it must have been hard being cooped up during the great stretch of weather we have had!!!

EMMC was great! Everything went very smooth. I was initially with a really loud patient and thankfully within hours she was moved to a different floor and I was moved over to the window side. Ironically my new roommate ended up being a woman named Kristy who was also from Waterville and who had the same surgery with Dr. Toder right after she did mine! So it was PERFECT. we got to share a lot of moans and groans and swapped numbers and may carpool up to some support group meetings at some point. we'll see.

I am feeling pretty good. The gas is steadily leaving me (tmi!) I have A TON of support and basically have no responsibilities with my kids or the house or anything for the next three weeks and then I have the rest of the summer to relax with my kiddos so I am very grateful for that!

The weather was the least of my concerns when I was in the hospital. I am kind of bummed today though that my mom is taking all the kids to the beach and I am staying home :(

Enjoy your birthday/fourth of july weekend camping with your wife!

Hey Kristie! I live in Skowhegan so we can car pool together if you want!!! It took about 4 days to get all the gas out! I went into the bathroom and released! It took like 20 mins!! All I heard was my daughter saying "Ewww Momma! That's Gross" (she is 2) and my husband laughing hysterically!!! But it felt sooooooo good after that I didn't care!! Good luck and Inbox me whenever you want!!!

What's worth the PRIZE is ALWAYS worth the FIGHT!

Good Morning!

We are back from camping!  How is everyone doing???

I see you had your surgery with Dr. Clough...what were your impressions of him?  (I met with him in 2003 for SWL, but chose not to go forward at that time.)  I did have SWL surgery in March with Dr. Michelle Toder, at EMMC in Bangor...
