Thanks for your reply. I hadn't heard too much about him and know these surgeries can be risky so wanted to ask around. Have you had any complications if you don't mind me asking? I am not sure if we are able to send private emails on this. Did you get through the program pretty quickly? I suffer from hypothyroidism and I am wondering if it would work for me. I have dieted all my life and have been big since I was 5yrs old and yo yo dieted but since the thyroid issues I can not lose anything.

I'm having surgery on the 18th with Dr. Loggins! The Central Maine Medical Center's Lewiston Bariatrics Teams is awesome. They are a dedicated clinic and are really thorough. My insurance is one of "those" that requires 6 months of nutrition visits and I've hated every moment of the wait! I started the Liquid Diet today and feel like I'm starving and I'm soooo nauseaus...............Can't wait for surgery day!

A girlfriend of mine had Dr. Loggins and she said he was amazing. She searched and searched and searched until she felt comfortable with a doctore and Dr. Loggins was it.
I had my first consultation on Dec 22, 2007 and had surgery April 14, 2008. I was "on the ball" will getting all the requirements done as soon as I could! I had issues with high blood pressure, I was borderline diabetic, found out I had sleep apnea and H-pylori (which was treated pre-op). Post-op, I have had stomach ulcers a few times, but if I stay on the Prevacid, I am fine. I also have this left lower quadrant pain that no one can find a cause for, but it doesn't appear to be RNY related. Even with that pain, I'd have this RNY with Dr L ANY DAY!! I'd do it again tomorrow, IF I needed to! I started at about 265 (I'm 5'2) and hit goal at about 9 months post op. I've been maintaining since then. Just follow the "rules", do what the nut and surgeon ask you to do, and things will be fine!! They are ALL a great bunch of people there at CMMC....in my opinion. Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like to go back and read my blog entries from early on........

I have had surgery with Jamie Loggins, and he is really wonderful. I also have 3 friends who have had RNY's with him, and they are all doing wonderfully. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. His staff is wonderful, and helped me re-wire my brain when it comes to eating. I am just over two years out, and have hi my target weight (I've lost over 140 lbs). Dr. Loggins has a great bedside manner, and he and his staff are a great source of encouragement!
Hi again! Thought you'd like to know that I had my surgeries with Dr Loggins and Team 1 week ago today (Monday) They were amazing! Even the nursing staff on the Thompson Floor are dedicated to caring for WLS patients! So they really understand what you are feeling and are terrific. I have my staples out on Thursday. Liquids, pudding, soup etc are all going down well. I am weaning down slowly from my pain meds. The only problem that I had was a reaction to the liquid hydrocodone. I begain hallucinating while asleep and awake. Yikes, not fun. So I am now crushing oxycodone. I'm walking a little bit 3 times a day and around the house each time I get up. Still tired, but Wow, I've lost a total of 19 lbs and 1 pant size already!!! I expect big numbers after tonights Milk of Magnesia kicks in, lol. Arms around, Susan
