Drains?
If she's able to do robotic laproscopic RNY she makes either 3-4 tiny incisions. I have 3 ports, HD had 4. I had robotic Lap RNY, the robot was not available for HD so he had old fashioned lap-RNY. No drains for either of us. The "ports" were closed with neat tiny sutures. It's hard for me and HD to find our incisions now.
She even used the same incision sites to do my 2nd surgery!
I told her I'd love for her to do plastics. She is meticulous!

Oh- forgot to add.....
The stiches are covered with steri-strips (clear tape) which will come off after a few showers- you will be told not to take if off, let the tape come off on it's own.
At your follow up visit Dr. Toder will remove any outer stitch threads.

What MaineGal says was exactly the case for me. Dr. Toder made five small incisions, and each was covered with a small "Steri-Strip", which is nothing more than a minor band-aid. Mine stayed on until the day I had my 2-week follow-up, and she took them off at the follow-up, but, you really have to look to see where the incisions were. Looks more like a pimple than anything...
Thorough and meticulous...just what you want in a surgeon!

I had a few stiches in ea*****ision, and the Steri-Strips over that. She pulled a few stiches out, at my 2-week post-op follow-up, after she removed the Steri-Strips. I can see where the incisions were, but I have to look for them.
She's amazing. We (Maine) are lucky to have someone of her caliber...There were surgeons from Paris, France, who watched my surgery live via video feed IN Paris. That speaks volumes for her quality of work...

I had asked Dr. Toder about this before I had my surgery and she said she does not do drains and she does not put a catheder in you either. She said there is more chance of infection if you do. She said only under rare cir****tances does she do either. I had steristrips and I had 5 of them. I showed you the other day my scars. You can certainly see my scars but I am light skinned so that might have something to do with it, who knows. LOL Heck my stretch marks and saggy skin bothers me more then the scars from surgery. LOL
