APPROVED
Kristie,
Hmm Lets see here my pysch eval was on December 21st and I had my appointment with Dr Toder on February 11th. Ins submitted on Feb 16th and found out Feb 22nd that I was approved. They would have submitted the day of my appointment with Dr. Toder or possibly the next day but I had to have some blood work done that they had to submit to ins.
All and all it was not a bad wait. Did you say you have completed your 6 month dr supervised diet?

Thanks for the info Kim! I have not completed my 6 month supervised diet yet. It will be completed at the end of April. Did you have to wait to complete it before meeting with Dr. Toder? I have my one on one with the dietician tomorrow...any idea what to expect? Is the food log you submit to learn about what you are doing wrong or to make sure you are doing everything right? I am so worried that I may have eaten something wrong and get tossed from the program from what others have said...but my experience with EMMC has been amazing so far! Also did you have to lose a certain amount of weight and if so when did they tell you how much? sorry for all the questions!
Ask away anything I can help with I would be happy to. I had my last visit the day before my visit with Dr. Toder so I would say yes you do but I would just email Lynn at EMMC and see what she says. I knew when my last appointment was so Lynn went a head and set it up with Dr Toder so I didn't have to wait. I was lucky enough that I had seen my dr in Sept and Oct and after that I actually started Diet that was noted on my records. Lynn thought that would be ok since I actually did she my PCP 6 months in a row and it worked thankfully. I dont think they will kick you out the program. They look at what you eat to give you some suggestions and how you can change your eating habbits. You will take a test about your understanding of the surgeries. They really frown on if you have gained weight from the time you had your initial weigh in at the Nut class from when you see the dietician. If you do they will make you go back to see the dietician again. I was never told I had to loose weight but I did anyways and Dr Toder told me she was really happy with my weightloss. I don't know if I was not required to because of the weight I had already shown that I lost at my dietician appointment or if because I am considered a lightweight. You have to write down different diets you have done and how much you lost and if you gained weight back how much ect. Add me as a friend and we can chat also. Feel free to ask me anything if I have the answer I will be happy to give them to you.

Congratulations on your approval. The time will go by quickly now. Dr Toder is wonderful! Not only did she do my RNY, she fixed my intestinal blockage 3 months post RNY. DH also had her for his RNY.
