Hi There! I am also going through Dr. Toder in Bangor. I have done my physical therapy appointment, and nutrition class and i have my dietition one on one and and sleep study next week. Psych appointment is March 16th...what happens from there? I also have Maine care and am doing the six months of appointments with my PCP but no one has said anything about a pyloric test, endoscopy, ultrasounds, stress test...is this stuff I should be asking about or is it specific to each patient and not specific to maine care? I am trying to get everything done in hopes I can have surgery early summer. Any help or advice would be appreciated!
Bkritty, I was required to have a pulmonary test, sleep study, nutrician class, physical therapy, dietician class atleast 1 support group meeting, 3 year history showing I had a BMI over 35, 6 month dr suppervised diet, I had to have a stress done not sure if it is because I have high blood pressure with a high pulse rate or if it is just a requirement ,period. You can have a choice between having a endoscopy or a pyloric blood test done. I choose the blood test. LOL I did not have to have a ultrasound. I also had to a thyroid test and a A1C test. I also had to have co-morbs. They submitted to ins yesterday so I am hoping that I will be lucky enough to get my approval fast like some of the others. I have a tentative date for surgery for March 17th. Good luck feel free to ask me any questions.

Good for you Kim! You must be so excited! That is soon! I was wondering when they told you that you needed to have the stress test done and pyloric blood test done. I also had to do the 6 months of dr. supervised diet and the thyroid test. I do not have co morbidities but they said that was okay. Im just kind of wondering when I will know that i have to do these other tests. I am assuming since I have mainecare too they would be required but I suppose it has to do with your whole health status too? I just don't want anything to slow me down! Thanks for the info!- Kristie
