Just some questions to gain Insight!
1.What type of surgery did you have?
2. How did you like the results?
3. How long did it take you to get to your target weight?
4. Did any of you NOT have serious comordities and just a HIGH BMI?
Thank you For all your help!
2. I would do this surg again anyday of the week
3. you go into a honnymoon stage for the frist 6-9Months some people get there in that time but some time other take a little longer

Amber R Befor Surgery 379/Surgery day 369/Current 225
I also had the RNY in June 12, 2008. i am doing my best to get to onerland I am @ 228.25, as of last week. I see my nutritionist, on the 13th, I think. I am walking, or mowing lawn, and doing the walking video. I am doing my best to exercise 30 + minutes per day, and i am keeping track of what & everything I eat.
I need to be accountable to people.
2. I LOVE the results of weight loss...I could deal WITHOUT the extra skin, though!!!
3. It took me about 9 months to get to my goal. I've gained a few pounds since goal, but I am still a "normal" BMI and DH likes me better at this weight than at MY goal, so I'll take it!
4. I had high blood pressure, was ABOUT to go on meds for diabetes, and I found out (through pre-op testing) that I had sleep apnea. I also had back pain and a few other "little" things, as well as a high BMI! (I am 5'2" and weighed 265 at my documented highest!)
I'd do this again tomorrow, if I had to! Yup, I've had a few issues (stomach ulcers and chronic left lower abdominal pain).....BUT.....NOTHING would stop me from having surgery again tomorrow!
Good luck to you!!!
1. i had lap rny bypass in dec 2008. by dr huang,
2. I have lost 162 lbs at last weight and still lossing.
3. I love the relsults. Could do without the extra skin on tummy and legs but dont want any more surgeries at this time.
4. I"m still workin on my goal weight I would like to get to 170 and hold
4.I unfortunately had serios comorbities. I had what is called intercranial hypertension. I almost went blind. I also had high bp, cronic pain, very bad headaches. After i lost the 50 lbs my headaches and ih went away.
I would do it all again in a heartbeat minus some of the complications i have run into.

2. How did you like the results?
I do like the results. I am still early on. I knew it would be muchslower then people who opted for the gastric bypass, but what i didnt realize is that when you first have the surgery the first couple weeks you feel a lot of restriction from the swelling. But then it goes away. That was frustration but I am getting back and things are great!
3. How long did it take you to get to your target weight?
Still too early to tell.
4. Did any of you NOT have serious comordities and just a HIGH BMI?
I did not have any comorbidities, but I was over 40 on the BMI. This was enough for my insurance company.
2. I love my results but like others I have had many problems. I have had ulcers to the point of being hospitalized, gallbladder out in 4/09, and an internal mesenteric hernia in august. Dr. Loggins took very good care of all these problems and I would do it again. I also had my plastic surgery in april of this year. I had my arms done and breast implants.
3. It took me nine months to go from 250 to 119 and have been maintaining at a BMI of 21 for almost 3 years with no regain. I have gone from a size 22 to a size 2. Hopefully that will continue.
4. Unlike most people I had no comorbid conditions. I was only 27 at the time so that might be a reason since I had only been obese for about 8 years. The only reason I qualified for surgery was a BMI of 44.
Hope that helps:)
