Update on Journey Thus Far...

Hello All,
Since my very first appt. with Dr. Bang (works with Dr. Loggins office) on August 20th, I've made significant progress on getting my testing done.
Thus far, I've had: EKG, Sleep Study (don't know results yet), blood work (including arterial blood gas), Chest xray, ultrasound on both legs, physical, pap smear, mammogram, 3 hr nutrition class.
Left to do: On Sept 28th I have an Endoscopy which I've never had before. On Sept 29th I have my first individual appt with the nutritionist. On Oct 6th I have to go to another Informational Meeting b/c the one I went to was over a year ago already. On Oct 8th I have to go for a Colonoscopy. On Oct 18th, a psych. eval. Oct 20-appt for results of sleep study. And I am waiting on a call from an Endocrinologist's office which should be fairly soon. Then I will be DONE that part!! I feel like every part of me has been examined or tested lol but I am sure glad they are thorough!!
In the meantime, working to lose 27lbs, get off of caffeine and the junk food (for me a challenge has been coming up with ideas for beverages and also for snacks--esp. anything sweet tasting.) Also have to find two protein drinks to try. Any suggestions on tolerable (if not good lol) tasting protein drinks?
Hope everyone else is doing well!

Sounds like you are making great progress with your testing!  Trust me, it is WELL worth it and YES, they are very thorough, but it's for a reason!  You can do it!

I liked the Unjury chicken soup early out (I wasn't liking the sweet stuff too much) and then I switched to Hood Calorie countdown fat free milk (45 cals, no fat, 9g of protien in 8 ounces)  I still drink 2 glasses of that per day. (gives me some calcium too!)

Keep us posted on your progress!

Best of luck!  It will be here before you know it.  Luckily for me, I lost my cravings for junk food immediately after surgery.

Here is my favorite sweet snack espcially good around the holidays.  I think it was a weigh****chers recipe.

Pumpkin Fluff
1 can Pumpkin Pie filling
1 tub fat free sugar free coolwhip
1 package fat free sugar free vanilla pudding
(and whatever amount of skim milk it calls for)
And then just add spices to taste
Nutmeg
Cinnamon
AllSpice

You can also add a little splenda if you like it sweeter.  I just prefer it without.

Mix it all together and let chill for 3 hours and BAM your good.  ITs soooo good.  I think 1 cup is 2 or 3 points in WW, but I could barely eat a cup before the band because its so rich!

Enjoy!
