Update on whats been happening>>>

Well Monday had my extploritiry laproscopic surgery and found that i had an internial hernia due to the man made hole that the dr makes to pass the rerouted intestins through. somehow mine got bigger causing this problem..went home monday and felt sore but nothing new and played possum all day. sat on my butt and watched tv,,,,well aftere about 5pm started to get a pain in my side and suggested that we keace the store so i could go rest. so we wenbt home..at 11 pm or so the cat jumped and landed right in the middle of my my belly..not a happy camper was i. so on wednesday morning brian rushed me to PEN BAY..from there i was rushed to emmc..from there to emergency surgery for a bowel obstruction. not sure how or how long i had this or why they couldnt go through rhe originial holes but i was out of it for than 24 hours. feeling beeter not and up walking eish i could sleep though. Night all

Well i have been here one week yesrterday. Alittle deprssing.no one shoulyd havwe eto stay here so kong but uo well.hopefully home this weekend, im still have problems stuss, it mybe just nornal but i dknof know. weill keep u all up later

Well I am home. Still feeling sore and tired. Not sleeping. JOYS. Having a hard time eating stuff. Dairy is getting harder to handle. I have a follow up on the 7 of October with my dr and hopefully finally find out what happened. At least now that I'm not all drugged up. Out of work till at least next friday. Would like to go back sooner for half days but really don't want to push myself.

As for what happened this is all i understand:

Monday: found an internal hernia and had it repaired. sernt home

Tuesday: felt okay alittle acky nothing out of the ordinary till my cat landed in my stomach at about 1130.

Wednesday: pain beyond no belife. Taken to PEN BAY and sent to EMMC.

later told that i had a bowel obstruction and that it was all twisted and turned on itsself. NEVER heard of this. I was told that a portion of my bowel removed. Don't know how much. I now have a g-tube and a good long scar going down my stomach.

From what I hear at support group this is a very common occurance. There are at least 3 folks there who've had this happen to them. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Sarah sorry to hear you are having such a hard time....I am thinking of you!!

I wish that they had found it the first time around. It may hae saved me some agony and another surgery. Im sore but doing better. sleep is lacking. Wish i knew what caused it so that i could have stopped it. I know that for sometime now i am done with surgery. I just hope that the g-tube in my stomach will come out easy without surgery.

Sounds like you've been through ENOUGH!!  Sure hope you are feeling better!!!

Im recovering but its slow. this is the first open surgery i have had, aside from c-sections. This just seems to take longer to get over. I'm weak sore and tired I don't know how much was taken out or how long i will have the g-tube. I'm sick of surgeries already. I think i will by p[ass the fixing of my stomach and thighs for sometime now. I'm sick of being sick and in the hospital. as it is i'm afraid to call the surgeon with questions for fear that he might tell me that i have to be readmitted and i can't take being away from my family.

If anyone out there knows of someone who went through all of this i would really appreciate a message on information about all this. Im finding it hard to eat again. Im nervous about the g-tube. how will it come out? Does it mean i need more surgery?  I hope not.
