Suffering and tired of it...

Well i am 20 months post op and have lost 162 lbs. I've gone from 350 to 189. At the cost of a lot of pain and throwing up.  What is wrong with me? I have had so many tests and everything says the same thing slow bowel, reductive colon? what does all this mean and why would it hurt up by my chest and back?

I'm at wits end here. I find that i don't dare to eat sometimes for fear of the pain i don't take pain killers for fear of it never being diagnosised. The love of my life is upset because he can't help me. I never know when the attacks are going to hit and it scares the living day lights out of me. Recently i have had a ct and lots of blood work..so far have been told anemia getting better, but i have a cyst on my left kidney and a reductant colon. Please anyone can you help explain. I have call my surgeon but still waiting to hear back.

Sorry you are having such a hard time.   A friend of mine has this and it might be worth looking at.  I am NOT a doctor, but SOME of the symptoms seem to match?  It might be worth some research.  Here's a link I found for some basic information:    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastroparesis

Hope you find some answers soon!
Good luck!

My daughter also has gastroparesis and is very sick alot.  In this illness the stomach muscles are basically paralized and cannot push food into the intestines. So it sits there and rots until you finally throw it up it spreads a lot of nasty stuff into your system. She was sick for well over 5 years before the Md's figured it out. As far as what she can eat, it is all trial and error. She has found that home made smoothies are something she can manage in small amounts.

I would say to stick to softer foods and liquids until they figure it out.  Not very much fun, but at least you wouldn't be in pain and throwing up.

It would be awsome to finally find out what is wrong and get the answers...downside they want me to miss at least 48 hours of work and i can't afford that. i don't have the time...so i will just have to take it easy and not do too much. maybe dr huang will be nice and let me go back as longas i don't push myself.
