Never Never Never in 100 years did I

think I was ever going to say this.  All you people who have known me for a few years know how I kicked and screamed about exercising, but after having a set back with my heals and today's rain, I'm dying to get out for my walk.  OMG,  I'm so far behind on my 14 miles for the week, but, I just need to put in what I can.  after being in so much pain yesterday after my walk I said I was going to take a break from walking but I can't do it.  even if I only walk one mile I'm still going to get out there.  so for all you who are refusing to get out and move and exercise take it from me, I started first by finding something fun, i bought some snow shoes and thought I was doing good till I went out with a group of girls who "Kicked my Ass"  I thought I saw God on that hike.  then I decided I had a long way to go, so I slowed went out more often and went for longer periods of time and set up walk dates with my friends and let me just say  "HAD FUN".  so with winter right around the corner, i'm hopeing to enjoy another winter of snowshoeing.  then this summer I bought a kayak and again HAD FUN.  so get out there and Enjoy, have fun, DON"T exercise, yak!!  just move, meet some new friends, set up little Dates.

Good for you!!    Glad you found things you really enjoy.  I'm still working on that.  I've been doing the Leslie Sansone walk at home program.  I like that enough.  I do the ones on Demand, but they sell the dvd at walmart for like $10.  I  may end up buying it.  On demand only has the one and two mile walks...her dvd has 1-5 mile walks on it.  It's good cardio and doesn't kill my feet/heels.  Might be something you would like for days like this when going out for a walk will drench you in seconds.  (I'm a wimp!  I hate being too cold/hot/wet--unless I'm swimming of course.)

I totally agree...everyone has to find the thing that they ENJOY doing or "exercise" will be like torture.

Hope your feeling better...have fun!!

I actually have 3 of her DVD's and looked at them like exercise, I hated doing them.  Not fun enough for me, like I said I was the worst at getting motivated.  but that is just me,  and if someone was home I wouldnt' do them, hate being watched.

That's how I was just over a year ago!  I found stuff that I liked to do and I DID it!  (Not so much these days!   If I could get over the pain and the fatigue, I think I'd get back into more exercise but right now, it AIN'T happening!)
Glad you have found something to have FUN with!  That's what it's all about!  If it's not FUN, who wants to do it??   NOT ME!

Hi Cheryl,
Thanks for posting that because I don't exercise formally--and even informally, hardly at all these days. Sure I can walk to the corner store and back a few times a week, no problem. But I get discouraged because I can walk only about 20 minutes without needing a break and/or feeling sore. Having fibromyalgia doesn't help matters but still, it's discouraging.
I'm anxious to catch up on your journey because last time I was here not long after you had the surgery you were pretty discouraged and not losing as much as you would have liked. How is that going now? I imagine with all that exercise you are kickin some serious butt! LOL. Hugs, Lori

Lori, NOPE, not at all,  i still havn't lot anything.  but I feel so healthy and i'm happy just the way I am.  Of course I woudln't mind loosing more, but I'd settle for my health anyday over being at goal.  I had this surgery to be healthy, why would I be unhappy, even if I am not at goal?  I'm so happy with my Band and wouldn't have done it any different.

Thank You for your post. I know I need to get back to my walking. This move has KMB I have so much to do all day long it works out to be a good excuse not to exercise.
Have a wonderful healthy day.
