Just thought I'd drop in again and say I was hoping to see alot of old friends and new ones yesterday.  You're all a bunch of hard working people I see.  I've had a few rough weeks and actually put on 3 lbs.  ouch,  we've had a birthday cake in the house, brownies, chips,  I've been bad.  really need to refocus.  I've done ok with my walking, i've managed to get in my 10 miles a week, but probably should work on making it 12 miles.  Today is Date day for me and hubby, he takes Thursday off from Golfing.  He has an Eye appointment and then we plan on going out on our boat.  I Do need to get in my walk at some point.  I'm very bad about not getting it in if I dont' do it early in the morning.  Stop in and tell me a little something about yourself.  I'm desperate for friends. haha

Hello,
I just figured I take a second to say hi.  How was your date day/night?  I hope you didn't get caught up in the thunderstorm.  Things here are ok, I guess.  Although, they could also be much better.  My weight loss is non-existant this week.  Seems I keep gaining and losing the same few pounds over and over.  I've been in for a couple of fills...am up to 5 cc's now but have no restriction.  Very odd considering last year I was overfilled at 6cc (which turned out to really be 6.8 somehow).  I'm scheduled for another fill next week.  I'm a bit nervous though, I do NOT want to be overfilled again.  Not ever!  That was horrible.  But, I've got to go in and try to get some sort of restriction.  How many cc's are in yours right now?  Do you have decent restriction?  I'm glad to see you back on here.  We were banded around the same time and it seems we've had very similar issues.  I have to congratulate you...you've done well to keep off your approx. 40 pounds.
Well, I suppose, I should wrap it up and leave some room for someone else to post on here.  lol
Welcome back!!
Talk to you soon.

oh, my Julz, I so agreee, I was also over filled for a weekend a year ago and it was hell, I went all year with no restriction, (or very little) and when I went for my annual i was affraid too.  I insisted on only .25 cc and I struggled with the water he gave me in the office.  I am at 5.00 (approx) and yes, your right it is weird how you can be up to a certain fill level then get an unfil and it all changes.  I like the level i'm at.  I still struggle in the morning, but after 2.5 years I've figured out it's a alergy (mucus) problem i have at night, it takes me several hours to clear things up, you should hear my tummy in the morning, almost sounds like it is talking. haha.  if you feel like your getting closer, take is slow and easy on fills.  I have gotten stuck a few times, but so far nothing big, and I still havn't thrown up and don't plan to.  I don't want to damage anything, I plan on keeping my band for a long time.  I was a little concernned with a little reflux at night, but I started sleeping with 2 pillows and now I'm fine, and as I said it's this mucus problem at night.  I have tried all kinds of meds to help with it but no success.  oh well.  I'm trying to notice if it's worse with certain foods or times of year. but I havn't figured that out yet.

Hang in there, hope everything works out for you,  keep in touch.

Hugs, Cheryl

Morning Cheryl.
Don't you wish we had heard someone in a support group say "I like my band, but GEEZE can it through you for a loop when it wants!"  or SOMETHING to that effect??  I know prior to getting mine, everyone at the groups were 100% positive w/their comments.  Noone mentioned having stuck episodes more than once or twice, or how no matter how much you stick to the band rules you CAN still have issues that make you wonder what the hell you were thinking in the first place.  I kinda of wonder if people were just afraid of scaring new patients away or something. lol  Cause whoa mamma has my "ride" been different!   But, as you said, it is all about finding what works for us and making sure we get the help we need as soon as we feel we need it.  I may be over 2 years out, but EVERY day is a learning day.
I'm glad you discovered your allergy...not to say I am glad you have it, just that you know it's there.  Now you can (and are) work around that.  I can totally imagine your belly yelling at you in the morning. lol  I know mine would be if I had to put breakfast off for more than an hour after waking up.  Not to mention how cranky I'd be.  I tend to be a little moody when I'm hungry (or tired for that matter).   Hopefully you'll be able to pin-point what triggers the mucus issue.  Good luck.

I'll be popping in here a few times a week, so I'll keep an eye out for your posts.  :)  I'll definitely be keeping in touch.

Thanks for the support...know you have mine as well.
Well, I'm off to get a few household chores done so that later I can take the kids to see the Peter Pan play in Portsmouth.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  :)  Looks like it's going to be great weather-wise.

Talk to you soon.

Good Morning Julz,
Yes, I agree, I think my Dr has a huge RNY clientel, so much of the support groups were about RNY.  so I relied on OH, Lap Band forum and many friends I got to know from around the world who have had their band for years.  many of us stuggle every day, trying to figure it out, and yes, every day is different, one day I can eat one food and not the next.  but it was nice to hear others stuggle and us trying to figure this out together.  again, my mucus problem was not common, but now i'm reading alot about it, and that Dr's are actually treating their patients for it.  all the over counter stuff I've tried isn't helping.  That is why I have such a hard time eating before 10 am.  I even have a hard time with coffee some mornings.  I also still eat too much and feel like I could use a small fill, but i DEF can't do it because of my mucus problem, so that is just something I need to work around and do my best and i'm ok, with it.  the band is tricky, but there is still NO way I would ever get RNY.  like I said before,  the band is there to slow me down, to tell me when i've had enough, to keep me away from lots of foods ie: breads, pastas, french fries, chips  so I'm happy with my band.  i'm healthy, trying my best to walk 6 days a week = 10-12 miles a week and that is not something I even considered before my band.  I am still far from my goal, (27 lbs) but at this rate maybe reach it in 2012. haha  I have pushed myself to as far as I can walk right now with the arthritis I have in my feet, knees and hips.  maybe as I loose more, I can go more.  without my band I would probaby be back where I was 5 years ago.  I'll take my size 12-14.  I don't do the following:  go out to eat much, if we do I eat before we go or after,  I order a drink and sit and enjoy the company.  I refuse to waste money on something and get stuck and get the look from everyone around the table and waitress, and suffer.  I don't try new foods or eat carbs in public. (parties, bbqs, games) but I do so much more then I should and still working on turning those do into Don'ts, haha  I should start a Goal post everyweek like I used to, it helped me alot and might help others.  talk to you soon, Cheryl
