Before surgery I was taking 13 pills a day.  Now I am only taking 5 but I have always had trouble swallowing them.  Especially now that I only sip sip sip.  So I have to take a large drink to down the pills and then I suffer for about 30 minutes.  I have tried crushing them (gross).  I am suppose to take my metformin with food and I can't do that either.  Any suggestions - I am open to any ideas you may have.

Can you get scripts for any of them in liquid form?  Are you allowed sf applesauce or yogurt?  How about crushing them into something soft like that?   I'd call your PCP or surgeon if it continues to be a problem.....they may have more answers for you.  Good luck!

I never thought of liquid scripts.  I see my PCP next weekand I'll ask about it.  Thank you very much.  I tried the SF applesauce and it didn't help.

well, I also have to take one tiny pill and it kills me every morning.  (dr wants me to take in morning) some days the pain lasts for 3 hours, I can't eat or drink.  if I could take it later it would be a little better)  I have the band and find myself very tight in the morning,  it has taken me over 2.5 years to figure this out.  (I"m slow)  the less water the better, and HO****er.  hope that helps a little. I also cut in 1/2 .good luck.

Try this link. It is too a new liquid metformin. I work at a pharmacy and have never seen it but it might be available.
