WTF.... 800 calories a day for the rest of my life... arg!!
I have had a big problem with gaining weight (ok like FOREVER!!) and couldn't figure out why, my calorie count was 1200ish on a daily basis so I started talking with my doctors nutritionist. The first 4 weeks she had me on a diet and I GAINED 12 pounds.... REALLY.. WTF!! So in tears I went back to her and she had done some reseach for me. She told me that my body, due the the RNY, was now treating 1200 calories like 2400..... WOW! This was the first time EVER that I was regretting having surgery. We worked together and put me on a 800ish calorie diet(body thinks it is 1600??), lower would/could be dangerous to my heath and AMAZINGLY I started loosing weight again(10 pounds in a week), Im was not hungry and I am getting the nutients that I need. Has anyone else heard of this? I have "tested" it (on vacation and maintained weight instead of loosing when eating 1000)...... seems to be true.
I know our bodies act "weird" after RNY! I didn't realize it was quite like THAT though! I've put on a couple of pounds myself while eating about 1400-1500cals/day (my Go Wear fit says I burn about 1900-2000/day.....so I SHOULD be in a calorie deficit and losing, right? NOT!)
Hope you don't have to stay at 800 cals "Forever"!! sheesshh! Sorry you are going through all this! Please keep us posted on how you are doing!

I'm glad you are under a dietician's care. Seems very low, but it's working.
How about exercise? How many minutes do you get in during the week? EMMC nuts say 300 minutes per week to be succesfull.
