Back on the right path...
It's been a LONG time since I have really posted anything here. Most of the women I used to see on the boards appear to be gone?? But, that's alright, this MAY benefit someone here.
I was banded in March of 2008. I lost about 40 pounds in about six months. Unfortunately, I ended up with too much in my band and became way too tight. (Took me a while to figure that out though) I wound up getting stuck on EVERYTHING and most days "coughed it up" at least 1-2 times a day. Due to that, I turned to slider foods like applesauce, yogurt, ice cream, etc. and began gaining weight. So, in OCT of 2009, I went in to have my band emptied. I weighed 247.4 that day...about 1 pound less than my weight the day of surgery. Weird thing about the unfill...they had put in 6cc's but 6.8cc's came out.
Skipping forward to now...I have regained ALL of my weight PLUS some. I weighed in today at 273.6 pounds. I went in for a fill...2cc's. However, when she check it...found that there is 3cc's in there. (Which means there was 7.8 cc's in it prior.) SO WEIRD! I asked if maybe it (my band) possibly builds condensation or something (seeing as how there always ends up being more that what was put in) but she said that it's usually the opposite. Apparently the band can "sweat" and you end up with a little bit less liquid in it. HUH, don't know what's up with me.
But anyway, back to what I was origionally saying, I went in to get a fill and to get back on track. I am oficially starting over today. I have 3 cc's (2 from today and 1 that was "left over")in my 10 cc band, am on liquids/mushies for 48 hours, and am scheduled to go for another fill in two weeks.
I'm planning to up my exercise, log my food/drink intake, and start attending at least one support group per month. Hopefully it'll do the "trick".
So, that's my story...any questions, feel free to ask. Any comments, feel free to leave those too.
Hope everyone is doing well.

With the band you have to be a great dieter and have patience patience patience.
My son has lost 83 pounds but it is alot of dieting and exercise. We all have to be dieters and follow the rules but with the band it is more dieting as it is slower and i am sure a lot better for you.
yes you are right the slider foods are high in calories so you really have to watch that. I wish you well and am glad you are back. I am a great believer in support groups as i need to be accountible to my peers.
take care
Patty
This time you will know the signs of too much fill.
