Trying Not to Panic
Okay, I'm trying not to panic but, I have been obsessed with weight loss since the day of surgery. Up until 3 days ago, I was losing a pound a day! But the scale hasn't moved for 3 days . . .and I'm really trying not to panic.
I'm getting 40-60 grams of protein a day, along with plenty of fluids. My calorie intake is between 300-600 a day. And I'm walking - not cleared to do anything else yet.
Is this to be expected?

hey now, dont freak out. I have read many people saying the same thing. I am 5 days out, and lost 2-3 pounds a day the first 4 days, then nothing today that I can see. BUT, I have read that sometimes what we are losing are inches, versus pounds. and really, as much as you and I both weigh ourselves every day, we probably shouldnt.
If someone had told you a year ago that you would lose 3-4 pounds a week, you would have probably thought that was great. It is relative. Because we are girls, we are going to have cycles in our bodies of weight gain and loss that fluctuate. Water weight, swelling, even something as simple as our bowels going back to normal (and sorry to be graphic here, but Im pretty sure that 'solid" poop is much healthier, and MUCH heavier, than what we get after surgery for a few days. Your colon is beginning to function again, and soon you may need a stool softener, from what I hear) What Im saying is, DONT PANIC. You are programmed to lose now, and you will. But give your body time to adjust and relearn how to operate in perfect rhythym. You cannot help but lose on less than 1000 calories a day, but it is a process. trust it. and remember, stress makes some of us want to nibble, its a vicious cycle. hang in there. :)

DON'T PANIC! This is completely normal. You will not lose weight every single day. You will go sometimes weeks at a time without losing a pound. Take measurements because when the scale doesn't move, the inches will. Almost everyone has a stall at around 2-3 weeks that lasts a few days to a week - this is completely normal. Your body is just basically trying to figure out what the heck is going on.
I would also recommend making sure you're getting at least 60g of protein per day, you'll feel better and get more calories - which is a good thing. It sounds like you're doing great - just keep it up and the pounds will melt away before you know it!

THis surgery works. Don't worry. You don't loose every day, but in the long run the weight loss will be phenominal.
