found a protein drink I can eat without gagging.
It takes alot of trial and error to find one you actually like. And really, what's the point if you DON'T like it? If it tastes like crap and you have to choke it down, then you won't drink it and get the nutrition you need from it. Try this one from Bariatric Foodie (Cleopatra_Nik from the RNY board) she has lots of other awesome flavors on there too, and videos of how to make them. Like she says, "There's no excuse for drinking a nasty protein shake!" HTH, don't give up, you WILL find one you like!

You might not be able to handle them after surgery due to the sugar content. Also how many grams of protein are in them? I like the Atkins shakes and use them occasionally now and they have very little sugar. You might also want to try Muscle Milk Light - it's one of those things that people either love or hate. I liked them, but I was also determined to get in the protein and nothing was going to stop me. There's a lot to choose from, just don't buy in bulk because what you like one day, you might not like the next.
it is 4 am and I am up with restless legs, yuck. I think it was 10 g of protein. I am pretty sure the sugar content wouldnt be great after surgery. I have spent a few hrs reading up on the bariatric foodie page someone mentioned above, WOW. Great ideas. I have even ordered a bunch of stuff she mentions, stuff to make good tasting protein drinks. I really like how she talks and explains things in her videos, its like a friend sitting here with me. I am so glad I was pointed her way. Hoping some of the things she describes are as good as they sound. I so agree with the not buying in bulk. Im learning. :)
