Soo, saw Dr. Cobean today.  I was super nervous but I actually lost 8 pounds!  The odd part was that it didnt seem like he even cared that I did.  There was all this talk about having to lose this percentage of weight loss before you see him and before surgery and he didnt even bring it up.

Anyway, I paid my deposit and I should hear within the next couple weeks about my date.  I asked when they were currently booking surgery for and they said JUNE!!! I am sooo excited.  I thought it would be later like August.  But JUNE!!!!

So excited.

Very cool indeed!  Good for you for the initial loss and June isn't far away at all!  Does that program have you do the two week liquid diet before surgery?

Its not completely liquid.  Its 3 protein shakes a day and one small meal.  They suggest using smart ones or lean cuisine, but they also give amounts if you would like to make your own meal.  And you can have unlimited raw veggies.

Good to know..I am choosing to go for the lap band as well and have seen  a lot of people discussing a pure liquid diet...I hope my process goes relatively quick!  I am really excited!

My understanding is that Cobean doesn't care much if you lose weight pre-op, while Dr. Wolff cancels those who don't. Mostly it is for our safety anyway, but 8 pounds is fabulous! They didn't give you a surgery date when you were there? I was scheduled when I went in and was so upset that it was 12 weeks after I was told 6-8, but I had to get over the holidays to get to mine.

On the pre-op diet, you might do better not using the frozen meals as they have a lot of sodium -- or you have to pick ones that don't. It does make it easier if you wish to go that route, though. There is actually enough food in there that you don't need to eat it all at once and be hungry most of the day.

Thats interesting that the two doc's are so different.  Cobeans administrative assistant told me that once i pay the deposit (which I did yesterday) they will email her and she will contact me (within two weeks) with a date.  I asked how far out and they said June at the moment so it looks like it will be like 4-6 weeks?  Craziness.

Congratulations on making it one step further in this journey! I was afraid my dr. would cancel on the day of surgery if I hadn't lost enough. Fortunately, I had.

31 lbs. lost before surgery!  My goal is 150lbs.  My surgeon's goal is 110lbs.  I just can't imagine that weight right now.  Maybe someday . . .

I am so excited for you!  When I went to the informational meeting, they said it was going to be early fall!  So, that is excellent!
