9?? days out

Well it's been over a week, I can't figure if it's 8 or 9 days so whatever.  Mostly I'm doing well, pain is good, sore at night or when my pants rub on an incision.  Sore on the left side but I'm not taking anything anymore, can take it but haven't really needed to.  I am struggling to get all my protein and liquids in, some days are better than others.  I had some greek yogurt with pureed strawberries and splenda yesterday and enjoyed that.  Today I made it and added 1/2 scoop of unjury "unflavored" protein to it and couldn't do it.  I could taste the powder and it was nasty.  So I've had two carnation instant breakfasts and a little soup today and that's about it.  I am going to see about getting some cream of wheat to try and keep at it.  I know it's early and it's hard at first, the good thing is I'm not hungry, I'm making myself find something to have, I'd be happy to skip the whole ordeal.  I'm sure that will change.  I haven't done much exercise yet, I guess I can't use the "recovering" excuse any longer.  Dh ordered an eliptical which arrived yesterday and we plan to buy his and her bicycles any day now so that will be fun.  I go back to work tomorrow which should be fine, it's not strenuous.  I feel tired and weak today which I'm guessing has a lot to do with what I'm (not) eating and drinking.  I've lost about 8 lbs. since the surgery and 21 since my highest weight so I'm pleased with that.  Don't think I'm as bloated or gassy as I was either.  I'm still glad I did it!

So that's the update :-)

Sounds like you are doing great.

The important thing  right now is not to get dehydrated.

Protein shakes or   greek yogurt is  great.

Rest when you need to rest.   Take care!!!!

Like Patty said: try to keep yourself hydrated...that is the most important at this point!  Good luck!

You've made it sound so easy!
Thanks for being inspiring!

31 lbs. lost before surgery!  My goal is 150lbs.  My surgeon's goal is 110lbs.  I just can't imagine that weight right now.  Maybe someday . . .
