Milk alternative?
Ok so I have figured out that I am lactose intolerant and I am and always have been a big milk drinker.
I find I do fine with yogurt, cheese, ect but drinking it forget it.
so being a big milk drinker and by big i mean like if im thirsty going to the fridge and taking a swig out of the jug.

Thankfully, I didn't end up being lactose intolerant, but I tested out a bunch of different options, just in case. Most folks I know use soy milk. But there is also lactose-free milk, rice milk and almond milk (though the latter two are lower in protein and higher in sugar). Our taste buds are so weird after surgery, I think you just have to try different things and see what works for you.
I am working on not having lactose right now . . . have you tried Lactaid or NuTrish as a first step? It might be worth a shot. I have friends who love soy milk and almond milk, but you have to watch the sugar content on those -- look for the SF varieties. I am trying to decide if I should try soy cheese myself as I am currently avoiding milk, yogurt and cheese, which is pretty boring!
