i did get to have my surgery today.  i never saw Dr. Todor all day, not before, not after but hopefully during, LOL.  No one cared about my thrush and everything went fine.  I feel fine, really thirsty since I can only have mouth swabs today.  I walked the loop twice so far and haven't had any pain meds since about 1 or 2.  i'm about to have some though and get some sleep.  I do see what you all mean about gas pains though.

Thanks for all the support and good thoughts :-)

What's a mouth swab?

31 lbs. lost before surgery!  My goal is 150lbs.  My surgeon's goal is 110lbs.  I just can't imagine that weight right now.  Maybe someday . . .

A mouth swab is just a little sponge on the end of a stick. The first day, that is all you get. You're not really supposed to swallow the water, just put some moisture in your mouth so you are not so parched. If I remember right, they start you on small sips of water the second day and then on liquids the third day so you can go home.

Congratulations!! You are doing an excellent job. Keep up the great work!!

Yes I'm on my first little cup of water.  I take a sip and I can feel it sit there.  Walking around helps.  Most all my pain is on my left side, almost like when you get a cramp in your side from running.  It's not too bad.  I wasn't all that impressed with my night nurse but she leaves soon and I'm hopeful I get a better one for today.

Glad to hear you are feeling well and sipping water.  I hope the nursing situation gets better...that's too bad.  Hopefully the day shift will make up for the night.  Love getting updates!!!!  Walk, walk, walk, and sip, sip, sip!!!!!!  WELCOME TO THE LOSERS BENCH!!!!!

I only saw Dr. Wolfe for about two seconds before surgery and then once or twice after that -- before I was fully coherent! I think that is just how their days work.

I hope you have a very smooth recovery.
