Day 2

Day two here in the hospital, I've been up and showered, got my second iv out, they do some weird new thing with giving everyone insulin after surgery now (not just bariatric surgery) because they found certain blood sugar levels improved healing, that was fun because then they have to finger stick you every hour to check your sugar levels and finally they stopped all that early this a.m.  It was hard to sleep last night not because of pain but because of finger sticks, my roommate (who is sweet but had to be checked on also and that woke me up every time) and just the general hubbub of a hospital.  I have a nice nurse today and the very nice medical assistant man so that is all good.  I'm on sips of water, I've had a lot and would really love something more but nope, jus****er today.  That's ok, I don't want to pu****  I've walked 5 laps around the floor and will do more since there's not much else to do.  The plan is to go home tomorrow (yay).  The nutritionist came and saw me and made sure I didn't have any questions.  Everyone has been really good and I'm in good hands.  I feel good for the most part, can't wait to get home and back into real life.  Do you think the scale will say I lost when I get home?  I'll update later, I've got nothing better to do :-)

I'm glad you are doing so well.

Just a word of warning, don't be discouraged if you gain instead of lose while you are in the hospital.  They pump you full of so much fluid, that most likely you will show a gain, but I promise that it will come off very quickly.

Keep staying with the program.  You're doing great!

I am so glad to read how well you are doing as well as all the details. You are answering a lot of my questions. I'm hoping for a similar experience next week.

31 lbs. lost before surgery!  My goal is 150lbs.  My surgeon's goal is 110lbs.  I just can't imagine that weight right now.  Maybe someday . . .

Glad to hear you are doing so well!  You'll most likely be a high weight when you get home, due to fluids, but it'll come off quickly!  Just keep on walking and sippin!!!
