is it crazy

is it crazy that what I fear most is the saggy skin? It is literally the ONLY thing that makes me doubt I want the surgery. I WANT the surgery. But I am so afraid of that. Ive been walking a mile or two a day, working on my arms etc. But I have this overhang belly that grosses me out, and I just know it is gonna be flabby. My breasts too. Does everyone get the saggy baggies? I have pretty good skin, I guess, it is in pretty good shape for being 42. But I know that it is inevitable to have some skin. I hate being so consumed by the worry about it. If I exercise like crazy, will it lessen the skin issue? Please help me, but be honest, ive not gotten this far by lying to myself. I want thr truth, but hope is good, too. and thanks ladies (and guys)

I am 44 and have been a yo-yo dieter for years!  I am at my goal weight and YUP, I have some loose skin.  Exercise will help tone your muscles underneath the skin, but won't help much with the elasticity of your skin.  A lot of this depends on genetics, how much weight you lose, and how much the skin has been stretched.  The older we get, it seems the skin doesn't recoil as well.

I have a "muffin" top and some loose skin on my upper arms and inner thighs.  I've had a plastic surgery consult, but can't afford to have things done right now.

I just keep telling myself that I had the surgery to get healthy, NOT to win any beauty pageants!!!  Don't let the loose skin stop you from getting healthy!  There are plenty of support garments that you can get and plastic surgery can work wonders.

Good luck!

What support garments do you wear? How comfy are they?

31 lbs. lost before surgery!  My goal is 150lbs.  My surgeon's goal is 110lbs.  I just can't imagine that weight right now.  Maybe someday . . .

I  am  alot older than you and i had  saggy skin after i had my children so i dont have great  elasticity.

I  have learned to accept the saggies and it does hide well.  I am a great advocate for taking  a   nekkid picture of yourself so that in the end you can look back and say  oh my that was horrible  i can live with this saggy skin.  Being younger you have a good chance of some of   it going back.  I had a friend who lost  150 pounds and was very lucky she did not need plastic surgery.  I am saving  for mine.   I want to lose at least another  20 pounds before i do tho.

Good luck on your journey.

I have lost 93 lbs and to be honest, I have some saggy skin, but mine is really not too bad.  i have some bat wings and my thighs are a little flabby, but even without clothes, I really can't tell. My skin has been fairly elastic, but I also have never bore children and have not gone through menopause.   I have also been toning 3 times a week from 8 weeks out.  (I am 6 months out) I think all of those things make a huge difference.

I can tell you, though, that even if I did have baggy skin, it would absolutely be worth the trade off to have my health and be able to do so many more things now that I could have 93 lbs ago.
(18 lbs lost in pre-surgery program)

Personally I look like a sharpei when I am naked, but I FEEL so much better and it does hide well with clothes. A year ago I wouldn't be at work with leggings and a long button up top on, that I can tell you!  Does it get to me sometimes? Yes, the skin does get to me.  But it's better than the alternative.

20 pounds lost during two week pre-op diet.
