trying to prepare
my surgery is may 20. I need to do the high protein low carb thing for 2 weeks before that. I am trying to order/buy things that will help me survive that time. I like strawberry a lot, I dont mind slimfast at all, and I love fruits. Does anyone have any siggestions for me? I need to order some protein powder....what have been your experiences with that? Cheap is good. I would appreciate any input. Also, did you cheat at all on the preop diet? I have read other places people saying they did, and that seems kinda silly. The Doc is going to SEE your innards, how can you cheat? I dont want to cheat, I just want to be prepared with the right kinds of things to help me NOT cheat. Advice is most welcomed. Thanks.
I relied on Unjury- ordering from Unjury.com. They are quick at shipping. I like the vanilla, chocolate, unflavored I dislike their strawberry. The chicken soup is not wonderful.
I also used s.f. instant breakfast- I only found chocolate.
Healthy choice soups- you don't have to strain them pre-op, you will need to post-op
protein powder instant pudding recipe- in your booklet
EAS protein powder at WalMart fits into our plan- chocolate and vanilla
LF,SF yogurts with 1 Tablespoon of powdered milk to boost the protein is good to.
Mix up the menu and keep it interesting. You will get bored if you are drinking the same thing each meal.
Good luck.

carnation instant breakfast variety pack sugar free can be found only at shaws.
carnation instand sf choc is at hannaford.
Unjury unflavored powder is what i use. Ilike it the best. But i also like there strawbery sorbet mixed with ovaltine.
I use milk ovaltine and unflavored unjury.
Dont buy a whole lot as your tastes will change after surgery and being on liquid . If You need something to chew during your two weeks you can try celery or cukes real low in calories but gives you the crunch. but only if you cant stand not chewing.
they are trying to keep your calories under 1200 a day so the liquid is the easiest way to manage it.
Sounds like you are doing great!!!!
wont be long now!!!!

celery and cukes? I didnt know I could have those. I LOVE lettuce as a snack, so that must be ok, too? Those would help a LOT actually. I like carnation instant break, too. anyone know about the dannon freezer smoothie packs? Im stocking up on those, with skim milk or even just ice cubes they are yummy and not a lot of calories. But they do have 14 g of carbs? are we after just low calorie or is this very specific LIQUIDS?
The celery and cukes- check with the dieticians first. They do allow certain items IF you absolutely can't handle the protein liquids.
