Home from the hospital
I had a little scare Thursday night/Friday morning. I woke up at around 12:30 with sharp, shooting stomach pains. I laid in bed until about 2 a.m. and then called a friend to come watch my kids. I was just going to drive myself to the hospital, but once my friend saw me, she called 911. I was doubled over in pain and could barely walk. The ambulance crew came and got me and to me to the ER. The did an ultrasound on my gallbladder (which was fine), an x-ray and a cat scan. Dr. Toder came in around 9 a.m. and said that I was a mystery. It looked like my large bowel was inflamed, but it also could be my appendix, however, it was hiding on the cat scan and she couldn't see it. So, she admitted to watch my white blood cell count and then just monitored my. I had an enema (so much fun) and it got things "moving". Dr. Toder came and see me again. White count was normal, so that ruled out the appendix. Her suspicion was that I had an intestinal virus which inflamed the large intestine and either caused or added to a forming obstruction. I stayed in the hospital last night and was released around 4:00 p.m. today. I still have no desire to eat and had to force down some chicken, green beans, potatoes and a pear before they'd let me leave. Thank goodness that I was able to keep it down, so they released me. I'm home with my boys whom I missed soooo much. Dr. Toder and the EMMC staff was amazing!
Glad you are feeling better. I hear you about the enema. Had to give myself one the other day not pleasant but neither was suffering. I now am taking Mirilax daily so I dont get into that situation. Giving birth to a turd is never fun. I hope it is not anything serious!!! I agree Dr. T is the best!!!
