Ulcers... me too

I have been bothered with pouch and intestinal pain for the past 2 weeks. DH kept telling me it was a "stomach bug". NOT!
I gave Dr Toder's office a call on Monday after just about dying of pain at Saturday evening dinner at my Mom and Dad's. From what I described to Mary, the nurse, she advised Prolosec. I was even waking up with inestinal pain!

It's day 6 days on 80 mgs of prilosec. What a diffrerence!

So.... complication #2

Jan 2009 intestinal blockage
March 2010 Ulcer.

I'm sorry about the ulcer but I'm glad you're feeling better.   I hope the Prilosec keeps it in check for you.

Glad to hear you are feeling better Emily. I can empathize. Had an EGD done 3 weeks ago and they discovered the pouch pain I have been having all these months (which prilosec took care of pretty well) was caused by a piece of surgical wire that never dissolved and formed a bridge across the opening to my pouch creating a small ulcer at each end. They snipped the wire and doubled my dose and I go back on Friday for another EGD to see how the ulcers have healed. While they were down there they looked at my pouch and sure enough, it is twice the size it should be. No surprise since I have not had any real restriction to speak of for months. They are talking about doing a revision, but I am not sure I want to do that, but I am thinking about it and in the meantime I have joined weigh****chers to try and take some of this 20 pounds I regained off.

Thgey also mentioned banding it. Has anyone on the list had their rny banded that ypu have hear of?

At any rate, glad you are feeling better and you look fabuolus! I plan on being on Damariscotta Lake at the end of August. I rented a camp in Nobleboro. Maybe we do a summer gathering while I am there....

Hope you feel better soon. I never stopped taking my protonix, I just figured it was good insurance since so many have trouble with ulcers.  After reading all these posts, I think I'll continue that practice!!

I am on Carafate and Prilosec and it is only little better.  I have a scope on Thursday planned.  I hope they figure out what it is.
