How quick did the meds work?  Did you have nausea with it?

The first time I took the carafate, I had almost immediate relief, but then the pain came back after a while.  It took about 3-4 days to feel better.  The other times, 2-3 days and I was feeling pretty good.  I don't remember ever having nausea with it though.  Hope you are feeling better!

I got immediate relief with Carafate, and the Previcid kept me that way for 6 months. Every now and then I have a bad day and take previcid for a couple of days and am good again. Stress can bring it on...No nasua with either med, just blessed relief!

I wish I was getting relief.  It is only a little better.  They are doing a scope on Thursday.

I had nausea with mine. I had Zofran prescribed along with carafate & Prevacid.

I also had a scope done, and while in there, the Dr. saw that 2 of my staples were causing irritation, and he removed them, which was okay, since I am well healed up. Testing showed that my h pylori had returned, so I underwent treatment for that for a second time, and am feeling better now. The scope will likely give you some answers. Hang in there!
