Good Morning Everyone,
Wow I don't think I've been here in over a year...it's been a rough and stumbly one.  A lot of you I see regularly on FB but I needed some WLS support so here I am.
I'm looking to get back to the WLS program and am having a difficult time doing so.  Since October of 2008 I have put on 60 pounds ~ 20 - 30 of which Dr. L suggested because at 118 I was on the verge of being anirexic & was very malnurished (wrap your brain around that one...NOT).  At 177 this morning I would like to get back down to 145 but would be happy at 150 so that gives me a goal of 27 pounds to lose.  I'd like to do so by my 3 year check up in April.  Sitting here this morning at work (shhhh) I was eating my breakfast of yogurt & bran flakes figuring WW points.  Has anyone done WW post op?  Or should I go back to the bariatric diet of counting protein and calories?  Water, Water, Water & more water is an issue.  I got back into soda and now am struggling with that too.  Lots of struggles and not a lot of will-power going on here.  Yet another is my inability to exercise.  I've been having knee issues for a while and just last week had surgery to correct it so the exercise is a no go for now.  ANY AND ALL help, suggestions & support will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all!!!

Stephanie

Good Morning Stephanie, nice to see you back.  FIrst of all please don't think your the only one having problems, Gosh many of us start new challenges every Monday.  we all have our own issues.  I guess that is why we keep coming back.  No one understands us the way we do.  It's been so hard for me too, seeing so many have their wls and do so well, and I am still at the same place I was, NOT moving.  but i'm trying to keep possitive and just not go back to where I was.  if that is all I do, then is was worth it I guess.  I am doing ww, and It is working (If I follow it)... oiyyyy... I would suggest for you tho with your RNY you still count your proteins.  It is hard on ww cause alot of protein has more points.  I wanted to add that I got RB a boxing bag for xmas and I LOVE IT.  it is great core and arm exercise, you might want to check into it. I got it at GNC for $29.  I'll add a picture and also a video of resistant band I do a few times a week.  Please come back more often, we miss you and could use your support as well are you ours.  best of luck,  talk to you soon.

I  have done  ww  since before surgery  and now i find tha t  i move real slow  and have to exercise with it  to  get some success.  it keeps me accountible to the scale every week  so  i continue to go   another  5 pounds and i am at my doctors goal for me so  then i get to decide if i want  to stay there or keep plugging aways    my pcp will give me a doctors slip for lifetime when i get to a weight that i  can maintain.   so i am still striving to go down.   someweeks nothing some weeks  half a pounds some weeks a couple pounds down and up.  i dont do many carbs on the plan except my yogurt i dont do bread for sandwiches or ice cream  .

i just got some unjury so i dont have to ration my  protein so much

well good luck nice to see you.

Shawn is on ww with the band and when he follow program he does great.  the last three weeks he has lost 11 pounds.  and he is weighing and measureing everything.

Hello, I haven't done WW since surgery but it's such a good plan. Just be sure you are getting that protein in! That's harder with WW I think but do-able.  Good luck!

Hi Stephanie!
I've missed you around here!   I've not done WW either, but I'm sure it would work.  I think holding yourself accountable, eating protein first, and getting tha****er in you are still the most important things, no matter which plan you follow.  Exercise is a plus, for your general health and well being, but I've had to be a slacker about that recently, and it hasn't killed the weight loss yet (at least not completely!)    Just remember to burn more calories than you take in and remember that your body is burning calories even at rest.

Glad to see you back!  Please keep in touch!
Hugs!
