Fullbar
Hello Dearies How bees ya? I am ok out here in Michiganland. I love my church and the people I serve and have made a couple friends, but sure wish I was closer. Haven't made any YouTube videos in a long time and am still struggling with my weight. Have gained 20 pounds back this year and as many of you may rmember, I only lost 70 and 25 of that was presurgery.
I had a resting metabolism rate test last week and thought sure it would show a low metabolism, but no such luck. I burn 2000 calories at rest which means a 1000 calorie a day diet to lose 2 pounds a week. That may seem rerasonable to you who still have restriction, but I do not have any restriction to speak of and haven't had for months. I am going to have a consult for an endoscopy so they can look down there at my pouch and do a possible revision, but I haven't decided to do that for sure. I had such an easy surgery the first time around with no side effects at all and worry it may not be that way the second time around. That maybe I will feel like I felt last night and this morning after consuming a Fullbar. Anyone tried one? Here's a link http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/review-the-fullbar-diet-plan
And here's what happened. I ate one with a glass of water actually about an hour before a meal and didn't feel full really, though I wasn't terribly hungry. An hour or so later I ate a regulr meal - some steamed pea pods, a chicken breast sauteed with a few mushrooms and onions and a piece of low cal, low fat garlic toast I make myself . A normal sized meal for me. I was full but not stuffed. Didn't notice that the fullbar did much but figured I waited too long to eat after I ate it. Well, about two hours AFTER I ate, maybe even three, I stated getting a really uncomfortablly full feeling in my pouch along with real pain/ So much so that I couldn't do anything but lie down which is so not me!). Lots and lots and lots of burping which did nothing to alleviate the discomfort. I was so uncomfortable that I couldn't even sleep and at least 3 times during the night, I got the sweats and thefeeling I had to vomit which I also never do. Really in years. Of course I didn't doi it last night either but sure thought I would.
I am better now, but still uncomfortably full and sore. I has a protein shake and it went down ok, but have no desire for anything else.
Of course I am not certain that it was the Fullbar. Could be a stomach visus I guess, but I must say, I am very leary about eating one again, especially since the feeling of being so very overfull doean't kick in unitl hours after you have eaten. How can you judge how much to eat? I sure don't want that feeling again.Have any of you t ried one of these? Tred lightly if you do!
One last thing I would like to say...since my surgery I have NEVER felt this full for this long. And only a couple of times in the past 17 months have I felt even close to it. Nor have I ever had anything stuck, or ever dumped, or had the foamies. Perhaps if I had, I would have been far more careful about how much I ate.
Anyway...that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! Hopw you are all doing well!

Been missing you around here Terri! Glad to hear you are pretty much ok. I've heard of those fullbars and my mom tried one (Gave her bad gas, or so she said...TMI! sorry!) I'd be cautious with those....could very easily get stuck. Hope you are feeling better and that you can work all this out! Don't be a stranger!!!
Are you going to have the endoscopy. It seems so weird that you don't have restriction with your smaller pouch. I wonder if your stoma needs some stitching tighter? The endoscopy is a quick test which will tell them what's going on down there. Been there.......when I had the obstruction last year.
The fullbar sounds like an expando- sponge of fiber. Just add water and watch it bulk up. Ouch in your pouch! I hate that rock in the tummy feeling and can relate to your problem- though not using that particular product.
I'm hoping you get some answers.

Yes Emily. I am having and endoscopy a week from Friday. Not sure if I will have the revision though, even if they find I need one. I had a such an easy time after the first surgery (maybe too easy!) and am concerned I might not have such an easy time the second time around. Also, I have different insurance now, with not as many co-morbididties, so not sure it will pay. But they are going to do a look-see.
Did you feel the same after your revision as you did after your 1st surgery? Same recovery time etc?
